I'm Watching You

Drew this for someone and coloured it in, thought you might like to see.

Sorethumb!

Airsoft International magazine have made some Combat Base Layer shirts in a few colours. The one I fancy is in Tan, but seeing as we here in the North West of England don't have that much desert to play airsoft in, I thought what the hell would it look like on.

The picture here is a self portrait of me wearing the Desert Marpat (marine patern) pants and the CBL top. It would be good at Unreal Airsoft where you play indoors in a factory setting, good for all those GOPLAT and VBSS games, but not so good at the outdoor woodland sites.

More soon :)

Duck and Cover

While I haven't been drawing that much, I have managed to write a few stories for possible future comic book ideas. This is one rough cover for one of those ideas involving Zombies and Soldiers.

Gun For Hire

At the begining of the year, all I had to get rid of all my stress was drawing. That took a lot of sitting down, now there's nothing wrong with that, I enjoy doing nothing more than the next man. But then I got into Airsoft Skirmishing, nothing beats running around a wood with tons of gear, weapons, grenades, flashbangs and the odd swear word for eight hours on a Sunday to really get rid of all your stress.

Here's a pic of me taken at Unreal Airsoft in Stoke.

Honesty Above All Else.

Stella and Eben

Most of the pictures I draw are really edited like an anime film cell, with the images of the figures on one layer then the background and effects on another. Iknow it's lazy, but in the end it saves me time redrawing the whole thing again.

Here's Stella and Eben from 30 Days of Night in my style, based on how they look in the film not the graphic novel.

Live Long and Prosper :)

Welcome to Barrow

Sorry it's been so long, lot's of things happening in work, and I got a new hobby which has kept me from drawing and had me running around woods and factory's shooting people. What some people do to unwind!

Well the film 30 Days of Night is finally about to make it's way onto the big screen. I saw the trailer on a DVD I got and it's lookin good.

PEACE.

05 Part 2

Here are some more of the lead guy. I was very influenced by the sticker graffiti look at the time, with the vector lines and cell shaded colour. It would be nice to redo these at some point but I've got to much to do with the Mr Vincible project and the health and safety pictures for the day job...

Stay strong...:)

05!

I found a load of old pics I did in 2005. Once again for a story that just ran out steam before it could get finished, but Hey! going back over it I'm thinking it should get redone in my improved style.

Works Hell, Lifes a beach:)

Dreamer's Little Dream

I don't know if anyone out there reads the comments but this should explain the why and how this picture came about.

This one's for you playa :)

P.S I got picked to do my thang for the Mr Vincible project! :) So there, I'm bursting with ideas as I don't get to draw anything from a script, or something that someone else has thought up too often. As Bill Hicks said " Life is a journey, it's not the destination, but the ride thats the fun"

Quick and the Dead...Slow!

I've tried for two days to get some post's on, but my computer is going nuts.

Here is a character for a Silent Hill story, the final picture got screwed up by the photoshop program crashing, so this is whats left.

Here's the Pitch!

This is the image I had in my head, I did draw and ink several bad guys and a woman hitman to add to image but ran out time to paint them, but then again it is about this guy. It's in American comic book format and got coloured in about 15 minutes, so I'm back in the swing of things well and truly, let's just hope the guys who posted the ad like it... Stay tuned.

Peace out.

Careful What you Ask for!

Then I inked this, and added a bit of colour...

What I've Done

Me and Mandy,

were minding our our own business in Forbidden Planet in Liverpool, when Mandy saw an ad for a young, talented artist. So, one out of three ain't bad, I thought. So me makes an note of the webpage and me buys me Walking Dead 6 and Civil War Wolverine by Humberto Ramos (the man is an idol of mine), and then after watching the short films I did these of the main character...

Catch 22

This is the guy from another post with a bit o'colour thrown on. I'm not sure if it's Silent Hill or just snowing???

The title for this post has nowt to do with the book, just the mental state I'm in a the mo.

Keep your powder hard and your pecker dry :(

Code Red

On May 11th,

the film 28 Weeks Later comes out. This time the Yanks are taking over London and moving the survivors back into their homes. If you've seen the trailers on Youtube, You'll know just how cool it looks. This is my take on one of the characters from the film in full A.C.U gear and a CQB M-4. If you have no idea just what the letters stand for then shame on you....shame!

Well have to go! Bed calling "Oi! Williams! Get to Sleep"

Peace Out! Stay Alive At All Costs!

It's Slobbering Time!

Hi Gang,

It's competition time in work, and this is what my tiny brain has puked up for everyone to colour in on the release of the new spiderman 3 film. It's got Spidey, Venom (hope it don't scare the kids!) and Sandman. The new Goblin looks so lame I didn't bother doing him. It's been put on the blog in A4 size so you can print it off and colour it yourself. Just make sure to have it in the Coliseum Entertainer store by Friday 18th of May.

Smokin Ace's

Yes I know it was a sod aweful film, but I've sat through worse. I don't think they would ever think of doing a sequel or a comic book version but if they did.... What am I saying!

Anyhoo, this was done on a big scale that could of used a an A3 scanner, but was bodged together in photoshop. With any luck I'll get to paint some things over the weekend and add some backgrounds an stuff.

:>

Go Joe!

I drew these last night, these were done on the same colour paper but have been cleaned in photoshop so they appear white. I also put them on a textured background to make them stand out.

Why I drew them, I have no idea, but they were a good warm up.

They are Tunnel Rat and Rock n' Roll in case you were wondering..... no o.k..that's fine.

:)

The Road

This is one of the characters from the book called the Road by Cormac McCarthy.

Pretty much like the other image, this is straight out of the sketchbook, with no cleaning up in photoshop.

:)

Fanboy

I've got a few pics to add tonight, though I haven't had time to paint any, I thought I could get your opinions on them first.

This is from the sketch book. It hasn't been cleaned up so you can see the blue pencil lines and the colour of the paper. I like to use rough textured paper as it's better for the type of pencil I use.

It's also one of the first pictures I did with the old drawing mojo back in full swing... Yay me!

Bang and Blame

As I said the will to draw had gone on holiday. Trying to get it back, I would normally go to a comic shop, and buy a load of comics and get inspired that way. This time I picked up a few that would piss me off because the artwork is so crappy. One of the titles was Blood Nation. After flicking the pages I thought Great! This is so crap, I could do better! So this is my version of the cover to issue 3. I only saw a small thumbnail of it in the back of issue 2 but it was enough to get me my groove back.

The other pic posted before is of a bunch of private investigators. I've been watching a load of t.v whilst not drawing. I've also started giving them an outline again for a bit of boldness.

:p

You Wait For Something...

...And it never appears!

Yes I know I've been away for a while but now I'm back. For some reason I haven't been able to find the will to draw a damn thing. Thats the will to draw not draw at all mind you. Since the last post I've done a few commisions and some pre-vis work for a film script, and soon will be working on a tattoo which will be cool. My only hope is that it isn't going on going on the dude's butt!

The Fighting Mongs

This is Mike G, with the girly hair! and Nick (Captain Random). Together we all do battle against the hordes of people demanding Toys for thier offspring. Some old toys, some new toys and even some not even invented yet! that we must have somewhere in the store!

Anyway, Mike G turns the day into one long Double entendre, and I mean the whole day! That takes some skill... o.k not a great skill but hey, thats mike.

Nick, an Everton Fan!( poor boy). comes out with most strange comments. So much so we had to write them down and put them on the wall in work. When not trying to play World of Warcraft he's trying to beat the World record for headers with Mike G.

The Fighting Mongooses

Sorry its been so long without putting anything new on the blog, but my mojo had gone on a walkabout. Writers get writers block and ... I got the same thing, but with drawing. Must of had something to do with the full moon.

Anyhoo, this is me and Mark (Risk) in our work gear. We work for the Entertainer toyshop near Cheshire Oaks. It has to be the best job... ever. We get to sell cool figures to kids all day and muck about (or demo) as many toys as possible. Soon were all going Airsoft Skirmishing, and running around woods and getting covered in mud...oh and shot at! Cool.

Days Go By

So all the memories fade and the days go by...

Just thought I'd throw this dude on to go with the SG-1 guy I did yesterday. I'm still working on the final composition for the background, with the frozen stargate and all the snow, which is a bugger to paint properly! But hey... I've not drawn the heavy black lines around some of the new stuff to see how it goes. There is a lot of the same colour grey in the two painted bits, but the gate will be this colour and it should stand out against the white and blue of the snow.

More of the same soon :)

Sick Cycle Carousel

Hi gang,

Here is the painted version of an SG-1 character wearing P.C.U level 5 clothing( for when it's really cold Navy SEALs wear these). He's part of a big picture, standing in front of a Stargate frozen in ice and snow with a Goa'uld in the background. I could really do with writing a fan fiction comic from start to finish but I can just about compose a sentance, never mind write a comic book...

:p

Hear You Me

I know it's been a while, but I'm off for four days in a row, so I can draw to hearts content :)

And on that note here are a few sketches done on skizzenblock paper with a 0.7mm blueline pencil. The paper is quite rough so it's good for the pencil sketches. I drew Sam first to warm up, then Vala from SG-1. I'll also be adding Mitchell as well in a bit, but I really want to colour him first.

Cheery Bye :)

Old Skool

These are the older versions done last year I was yackin about before. You might not tell the difference at first but to me these one's are really old looking.

More soon :)

Spitting Games

Hi Gang,

Welcome back, I've had a week of nights in work and a weekend long headache, so as you can tell there hasn't been any posts but I've been busy tonight. These are some Stargate Characters. A while ago I was planning on sending some stuff to Avatar Press, these are the guys that do the SG-1 comic, thank God I didn't, as the stuff I'm doing now is much more refined. These were done on Skizzenblock paper, which keeps the little details far better than the normal photocopier paper I use. Hopefully I should get some colour on these soon.

Thanx :p

The Ruin of Arnor

This was done after reading this months White Dwarf magazine. This has to be the most effort I've put into a picture so far this month. As you can see the Soldier is missing his spear, as it wouldn't fit on the page, so this was created as a separate element and added in the final picture. I think the grass came out well, but it did obscure his feet.

I'd love to know what you think, so please leave a comment if you have the time.

:p

The Blue Letter

This was done as todays warm up picture. Taken from the intro to Haunted Liverpool 13. It's about the urban legend of a blue letter sent from the Devil, if you read it, you die! A bit like opening a credit card bill in January then ?...no, o.k I'll shut up.
I've left space for a logo and didn't want to put too many special effects on it. Just something to get me in the mood for the next installation.

Wipe Them out!

We were talking today, in work, about how I haven't done a version of Darth Maul. In the new digital painted style, at least. One of the first pics I put on the blog was of the Sith Lord himself. It was under the title My Sundown, this was from the Jimmy Eat World song which has the line:

"I could be so much more than this".

So with this in mind, here is a study for a new version, it might not get the full colour finish but it's a step in the right direction. And if I get the Sideshow version of the 12 inch figure this weekend to use as a model, I should be able to put it in a familiar pose to use as a reference.

For Mark (Mr Risk) and Nick (Captain Random) :)

Slow,Slow,Quick..No Slow!

Hi Gang,

Thanks for clicking on again. Tonight the computer has been on a go slow for some reason. This is the guy that was going to be added to the picture below but never made it. As you can see it's been done in the same way as the previous colour pic's which I am really enjoying doing at the mo. I should get some blue pencil stuff posted over the weekend as I've been doing loads of Resident Evil stuff which should look cool once it gets inked and coloured, so keep checking.

If there is stuff you like or don't, then let me know, it's great to here from you and your comments will steer me in the right direction.

Enough gabbing :p

Drowning Out

Ahoy-hoy!

For some reason, the wanting to draw something, appears to fading at the moment. It must be something to do with the moon? Anyhoo... this pic was done today and has a completely painted sea and sky. I think I'm getting better at the painted look, what do you think? It did originally have a man in the foreground, but it was ditched at the last minute. But, as its done in photoshop, he'll pop up somewhere else soon.

:p
